Freedom isn’t just an idea—it’s a feeling. And after nearly two decades in the Air Force Special Operations environment, I can tell you: it hits different when you’ve seen life without it.
I’ve spent time in places where people don’t get to speak freely, where walking outside after dark could cost you everything and where "normal days" are our nightmares. That changes how you see things. So, when the Fourth of July rolls around, I’m not just thinking about cookouts and fireworks—I’m thinking about how real freedom tastes, and what we owe to it.
Freedom means you get to choose. You choose how to spend your day, what to build, what to say. It’s easy to overlook when life moves fast, but this day is a solid reminder: we’re lucky to have it—and we’ve got to do something with it.
So, what does freedom actually look like in your life? And what are you doing with it?
Freedom isn’t just about what we can do—it’s about what we choose to do. That’s where the responsibility comes in. Are we using that space to grow? To support others and to build something that lasts? To leave a positive mark in history?
As my time in the military starts to come to an end and retirement is on the horizon, I feel the urge to continue building. That’s what's driving Lincoln Gear Co.—making dependable gear for everyday freedom, for everyone. I’ve seen what it takes to be ready for anything. That’s the mindset we put into every piece we stitch; perfection is the standard.
So today, let's take a breath. Look around. Appreciate where you are. Freedom isn’t guaranteed—and it damn sure isn’t perfect—but it’s powerful. When you’ve fought for it, you carry it differently. Use it. Protect it. Build something real with it.
Stay free. Stay grounded. Keep building.
